This month we welcomed a new year, and with it I’ve welcomed this new series. I’m so glad you’re here.

Lifestyle

Old Habits

I started the new year with a mindset to continue habits formed and loved in 2023, while also beginning new habits for my health and wellness. One habit I brought with me into January is keeping my daily task list. Using a daily planner has been part of my routine for years, and recently I happened upon this Daily Task Journal from Amazon. I love that it comes undated, provokes you to think of gratitude, has a to-do list, small note section, water intake and meal tracker. It feels like it’s been personalized just for me.

A second habit I am resolved to keep is continuing my daily supplements. It’s rare I miss a day, but when I do my body feels a difference. My multivitamins are from Ritual, and my symbiotic is Seed. Together, these have transformed my gut health and I’ve seen and felt a difference. Early in 2023 I began struggling once again with adult acne. I made quite a few changes to my wellness routine to combat what was outwardly showing on my skin. While I still find the occasional pimple my skin has drastically improved and I give much of the credit to these supplements. I’ve also found that I rarely feel bloated, even after big meals and this I know is thanks to my Seed symbiotic.

You can get 15% off your first order of Seed at any time by using my code LAURA15. Ritual is having a sale right now where you can receive 40% off your first month – get the discount here

New Habits

With wellness on my mind I’ve been intent on making homemade ginger shots. These firey ginger shots are bursting with vitamin C, antioxidants and offer a variety of health benefits. Plus, they taste delicious and wake you with an invigorating feeling in the morning. Get the full recipe here.

Motherhood

January was a month for the books when it came to personal motherhood milestones. This month Georgia and I embarked on the exciting journey of transitioning from the crib to the toddler bed and at the same time we began potty training! Read about our potty training experience here

Looking back on the past four weeks, I am so proud of how far we’ve come. More than that, I’m thrilled that we had so much fun doing it. A large part of motherhood is spent simultaneously enjoying the moment you’re in while also mourning the stages past. This month, rather than mourn the loss of any baby stages still lingering, I resolved to take moments to reflect on how far we’ve come and cherish where we are.

Beauty

The start of a new year brings about a lot of resolutions, intentions and  goal setting. While I personally didn’t set resolutions I did recently set a goal for myself to cleanup my makeup collection and toss anything that was too old to be used. Of course I had to treat myself for a job well done. It turned out to be quite a treat as my mother kindly gifted me the makeup and thanks to my credit card points I was also able to purchase the Theraface Pro with the added attachments.

Here is a list of the new makeup I’ve purchased:

  • Bobbi Brown Vitamin Enriched Skin Tint: This skin tint has a fragrance akin to a burst of fresh citrus, much like the rest of the vitamin enriched line. The most hydrating skin tint that I have tried to date, it offers sheer coverage and feels as if you’re wearing nothing at all. I use this as part of my everyday makeup routine and add concealer under the eyes. I finish my look with merit blush, a few swipes of mascara and brow gel.
  • Summer Fridays Dream Lip Oil: I am a Summer Friday’s fan, so of course I felt the need to try their newest product launch – The Dream Lip Oil. It is exactly as described, a dream. It’s thicker than a face oil, applies softly with the plush applicator and does not feel sticky when wearing. 10/10.
  • Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Freeze Gel: I have recently started using this, and feel as if I still need to learn how to apply for best results. I find that the product lasts throughout the day, and appreciate that it has two application sides on the same head of the brush.

Coming Up this Spring

Coming up over the next few months you can expect to see a review on the Theraface Pro, Valentine’s Day Gifts I’ve put together for Georgia’s Nursery School Friends and of course, new delcious recipes that I’m sure you’ll love as much as my own family does.

WINTER

Welcome cold winter nights and cozy nights in.
Candles lit. Soups and stews.
Grey days, but so thankful for when sun shines through.
Pink sunrises and orange sunsets.
Crisp air, wind blowing. Sounds of nature.
Blankets, hot water bottles, warm fires.
Quiet.
